A message from The Poetry Archive
Dear fan of the Poetry Archive,
As you know, we have announced some important changes happening to the Poetry Archive. In September 2026, we are closing and transferring the Archive to The Poetry Society (registered charity no. 303334).
We have made this decision in order to secure the future of one of the most important bodies of recorded poetry in the English-speaking world, and in order to amplify its reach and accessibility in a stronger relationship with the long-established UK charity The Poetry Society.
How this affects you if you are a Poet in the Poetry Archive
We have been contacting all poets who have entries in the Poetry Archive to request permission to transfer their entry to the Poetry Archive at Poetry Society. If you have not received an email from us, please check your junk file, or contact us at admin@poetryarchive.org to let us have your new email address.
How this affects you if you were a Member
We have been in contact with all Members to let them know the Poetry Society will continue to provide Poetry Archive information. Our membership scheme was closed to new members and renewals this year, whilst we manage this transition.
How this affects you if you receive our Newsletter.
We will be transferring all data to the Poetry Society so that you can continue to receive news about the Poetry Archive from them – and if you are happy with this, there is nothing you need do. You can unsubscribe at any time through the newsletters you receive.
I hope you understand, and indeed approve of, our motivation for planning this move. Everyone here at the Poetry Archive has loved bringing these poetry recordings to you and we are incredibly grateful for all you have done to support the work of growing the Archive. We know you will continue to love this unique collection of poetry in its new home.
With best wishes and thanks from The Poetry Archive Team.
