Ornithology - Gwyneth Lewis
Ornithology
The Wood Thrush sings a duet
All by itself, using two separate
Voices, while the whip-bird’s one cry – two creatures,
Nothing between them, though you know the fiction,
Standing on Point Sublime, to listen:
“One. Are we one. We are. One”
